Our Homes are On the Line and Our Lives are at Stake, Pass the HEROES Act! 

We’ve stretched our stimulus checks, shared our unemployment income with family members, and set up payment plans with our landlords. We’re doing our part and now we need our senators to abandon the party politics that divide us and take action to protect our homes. Even as COVID-19 cases are increasing and national news outlets warn of an “eviction avalanche,” a “housing apocalypse,” and a “full-blown homelessness crisis,” they’ve done nothing. At the very least, we need to pass the HEROES Act, which calls for a universal moratorium on evictions, $100 billion in rental assistance to renters and landlords, and $75 billion for homeowner relief.

Some members of our congressional delegation don’t want to spend this money on our families, but they gladly spent $450 billion on condition-free industry bailouts in a previous relief bill. As coronavirus cases continue to break daily records, we’re demanding that the Senate choose us this time. We are the frontline workers, the small business owners, and the people who stayed home and lost jobs to flatten the curve. We deserve a safe and healthy place to call home during the COVID-19 pandemic. Join us and demand that the Senate support the HEROES Act.
