Supporter,

A pandemic makes it crystal clear: my health depends on your health. We have to make sure everyone is safe, especially people experiencing homelessness. We know Mayor Cantrell and Governor Edwards are paying attention to this issue, but please take a moment to encourage them to act quickly.

There is no way for the hundreds of people in our homeless encampments, shelters, or drop-in centers to isolate from others. People who sleep outside are much more likely to be older and have the underlying health conditions that will make their cases more serious. None of us can afford to see our healthcare system overwhelmed. That’s why the CDC specifically recommends that people experiencing homelessness be moved into individual housing units, like hotels, where they can isolate. Please let our leaders know we all stand with people experiencing homelessness.

Thank you for helping to keep us all safe,

Maxwell Ciardullo
Director of Policy and Communications
